Meet the 2017 Leaps for Lives Beneficiaries
RAD Rescue, Inc
Rehabilitating and Advocating for Dogs (RAD) is a volunteer dog rescue group in Tucson, AZ. Founded in 2016, RAD is deeply committed to saving, healing and finding forever homes for the most challenged pooches who would otherwise be swallowed up in the shelter environment. RAD works primarily with senior dogs, with dogs suffering from severe medical or behavioral issues, and with dogs requiring hospice care. |
The Histio CURE Foundation
The Histio CURE Foundation has been created with one purpose - to find a CURE for all histiocytic disorders. Their mission is to raise funds to support major research programs focused on finding a CURE for these diseases. Please note: Our dance company has been touched by a histiocytic disorder. That is why we are dedicated to raising funds and awareness of organizations who support families affected by histiocytosis. |
Meet the Dogs (They're Adoptable!)
About Daffy
Daffy is our big, silly, clumsy, sometimes aloof, goof of an American Bulldog mix (we THINK with Boxer). He came to RAD Rescue in June of 2016 and despite the obvious reasons (doesn’t like cats or small dogs), he’s been passed up time and time again for one reason or another. Daffy is approximately 5 years old. He's about 75lbs with a beautiful white & brindle coat. Daffy exists fine with other dogs but he only "plays" with his humans. He is crate trained, house broke, microchipped, neutered, and up to date on his vaccines. In true bully form, Daffy has a sensitive stomach that requires a special diet but no worries, this boy LOVES his meal times and special snacks. He would do best in a kid free home or a home with bulldog experience as he does possess typical bulldog stubbornness. However, he loves with that same intensity and shows his excitement with occasional "smiles" to remind you. Daffy also comes with already paid for training with a Tucson local group eager to help transition Daffy into his forever home. Daffy's adoption fee is $125 (including the training). If you are interested in Daffy, please complete an application on our website http://radrescueinc.org/forms/ or contact RAD Rescue, Inc. at (661) 400-5151 |
About Missy
Missy is an adorable, super sweet and friendly petite 3 year old Boxer mix (around 40lbs) with the best under bite smile around who is looking for a foster or forever home. Missy is spayed, microchipped and current on her shots and vaccines. She is crate trained and housebroken and although typically a quiet girl, she will alert you if something is out of place. She LOVES to play with tennis balls or anything really that you can throw and she can chase. For this reason, we prefer Missy go to a home with cats or small dogs as her propensity to chase them is high. If interested in fostering Missy, RAD Rescue will provide a crate if requested as well as medical and food if needed. Missy has been around other dogs and tolerates mellow dogs fine; however, she does not like it when dogs are hyped or excitable. She would be an excellent only dog as she loves to cuddle and be close to her people. Missy can be a little shy at first, but given the right guidance and structure, she will make you her new best friend in no time. Missy is available for adoption; however, if you like to get involved in life-saving and rewarding rescue work, we are also seeking a foster home for Missy until she is adopted. Her adoption fee is $125. If you are interested in Missy, please complete an application on our website http://radrescueinc.org/forms/ or contact RAD Rescue, Inc. at (661) 400-5151 |
About Sweet Pea
Sweet Pea is a 3 year old spayed, female Boxer mix who lives up to her name - a very sweet dog. She is house-broken, crate-trained, and gets along with like sized dogs as well as cats and children. Sweet Pea is diabetic and currently needs two insulin injections per day. She is blind due to her diabetes going untreated while she was a stray. Sweet Pea came to RAD Rescue very underweight, but has quickly gained back the weight needed and is now at her ideal weight - right around 40 pounds. She enjoys going for car rides and walks very well on a leash. Although Sweet Pea does well with other dogs, she wouldn’t argue about being an only dog - she has MORE than enough love to give. She will still bark at strange sounds to alert you, but promptly stops upon request. Sweet Pea learns very quickly but in any new environment, she would need time to adjust to her new home and surroundings, learning where steps and trees are located. Sweet Pea comes with a SIX MONTH subscription sponsored by Dogabetix treats to help her new family transition her into a new home (an over $100 value)!! Sweet Pea's adoption fee is $125. If you are interested in Sweet Pea, please complete an application on our website http://radrescueinc.org/forms/ or contact RAD Rescue, Inc. at (661) 400-5151 |
